FIVE ANCIENT TIBETAN RITES
Workshops will be held at various sites. These small classes are
like having an all-day, private lesson. You will learn new
skills, discover painting and drawing secrets, receive
individual, in-depth instruction, be able to view Robert
demonstrating the techniques. Bring your own supplies and a
lunch. Paper will be supplied for some of the classes as part of
the course fee. A watercolor kit (tubes of watercolor, a folding
travel palette, and a brush) will be available for beginners for
$20.00. Beginners are welcome in all classes. Please
register by mail in time for a confirmation/information letter
with directions to be sent to you. These letters will be
sent out as soon as we have received 4 registrations. No
need to call to find if there is room. Classes will be
canceled if the enrollment is less than four. If you want
to show up without pre-registering, please call first!

PAINTING THE COAST IN WATERCOLOR

Learn how to paint the coast in watercolor. You will learn to create coastal
landscapes, ocean scenes with birds, cliffs, beaches, bathers, distant islands,
sea gulls, and other coastal features. Learn how to paint: with shape and space. We will paint
outdoors if the weather is good. You will learn how to create good colorful compositions. For more information call:

OIL PAINTING THE EASY WAY
This is a comprehensive beginning oil painting class. You will learn
everything you need to get you started oil painting the easy way.
Easily paint dramatic oils. Sunsets, perfect skies, and colorful
trees and water. You will learn the secrets of painting in oils
the easy way. You will paint two finished paintings. Please register at
least one week before class. All materials furnished for an additional $50 or
you may furnish your own. Oil
paint, two 9" x 12" prepared canvases, palette etc. For more information call

CREATIVE WATERCOLOR METHODS AND TECHNIQUES
You will discover easy secrets that will increase your painting
skill. Learn easy tricks and techniques that can improve your
paintings like magic. Prerequisite for this class is one of Mr.
Dvorak's beginning watercolor classes, Spontaneous Watercolor
or The Magic of Watercolor or some previous watercolor
instruction.

PAINTING ROCKS AND WAVES
Learn techniques for painting convincing rock and waves. This
class is different from the Painting the Coast Workshop. You will learn
how to make breakers, waves splashing against the rocks and sky, how to color a
wave to show the transparency and movement of the water. Learn how to
paint:
spray, mist, convincing rocks, sand, shore and more.
Private
Lessons only--Pacifica Studio--$100/hour, recommend one hour per week for three
weeks to learn everything.
WOODBLOCK PRINTMAKING
Learn to design, cut and print woodcut prints. See web site: www.
youcreate.com for examples of woodcuts. Learn the tricks the
experts use to make it easy, and fun. This class is for people
who have never done woodcut block printing before. A 4 piece tool
set, paper, wood blocks, ink, and other tools will be furnished
as part of the lesson fee.

FULL SHEET WATERCOLOR PAINTING
In this full sheet watercolor class Robert will demonstrate easy
methods for designing and painting on a full sheet--22" x
30"--paper. He will explain step by step each technique.
Students will create their own full sheet paintings. Full sheet
paper will be furnished. Bring your large brushes!
Note: You can come to this class without an idea of what you are going to paint. Robert will give you suggestions. If you have an idea of what you want to paint full sheet, and have a sketch or a photo of that idea, bring it to the class.

CREATING BEAUTIFUL ABSTRACT WATERCOLORS
Learn to paint successful beautiful abstract watercolors every
time. You will learn: space and composition, a simple no-fail
approach, three steps you must take, how to design and plan an
abstract painting, many new watercolor techniques. This could be
the most important watercolor class you will ever take. To

the class for $20. Paper supplies provided.
CREATING WATERCOLOR HOLIDAY OR CHRISTMAS GIFTS
You will create at least 10 small watercolors of your own design mounted
and ready for giving. You will make a watercolor center piece sculpture for the
table. You will learn how to make watercolor Christmas tree ornaments. You will
paint 2 paintings, one is pictured to the left. We will mat and
shrink-wrap one of these for giving. These unique gifts for the special people
in your life will be treasured for years to come. Watercolor paper, pre-cut mats
and other supplies furnished. Bring your own watercolors. There is a $15
materials fee for paper and other supplies. Beginners welcome!
Private
Lessons only--in Pacifica or Sacramento--$100/hour, recommend a three hour
lesson to learn everything.
PAINTING AND DRAWING TREES
This class will give you concentrated instruction
in painting and drawing trees in the landscape. You will
learn easy techniques for drawing and painting deciduous trees,
pine trees, and palm tees in the landscape. the mystery out
of still life painting. The class will focus on typical tree
subjects such as: roots, branches, twigs, leaves or
needles. People under the trees. Composition, light, shade
and shadow will be demonstrated and practiced. For more

Sometimes classes are canceled if there
are not enough participants. Please pre-register. If you want
to register the morning of the class, call to make sure that the
class is being held. On occasion people have shown up to take a
class that had to be canceled because the class needed one more person to be
preregistered for the class to have its minimum number.

First Thursday night of each month--Robert's Pacifica
Studio--participants share the model fee which is usually $10.
PAINT OR DRAW THE FIGURE
Practice the art of painting or drawing the figure as a means to
self awareness and attentiveness. From 7:30 PM to
9:30 PM. we practice drawing and painting. Contour drawing in pen
and pencil, conté crayon, charcoal, bamboo pen, calligraphy pen,
color modeling, light against dark, foreshortening, facial
details, and proportion will be practiced. Free your hand and eye
so you can paint and draw the figure with confidence! I invite you to drop in and experience this
incredible opportunity. You will be glad you did. We
have wonderful models. Bring your favorite drawing
instruments and some paper. Or Robert will furnish you with
drawing stuff. Come with a willingness to see what you can
do. You might surprise yourself. By the way, Robert
won't look at what you do unless you ask him to. And he
won't give you any instruction unless you request it. He
wants you to feel perfectly safe and comfortable. No oil
painting please!
Robert's studio (No. 21 with a red door) is located at the
Sanchez Art Center at 1220 Linda Mar Boulevard in Pacifica,
California just south of San Francisco on Highway One. See the

Turn left and travel east (away from the ocean) on Linda Mar Boulevard 1.2 miles to the Sanchez Art Center located on the right. Notice the large mural on building and park in front of the mural and walk to the left (east). Look for the red door of room 21. It is a short walk from the front parking lot. It is the farthest building east in the complex. Please give yourself enough time to arrive on time.
